JAKARTA - Danantara Indonesia Pandu Sjahrir's Chief Investment Officer (CIO) welcomed positively the decision of S&P Global Ratings to maintain Indonesia's credit rating at the BBB level for the long term and A-2 for the short term.

However, Pandu assessed that there were still many things that Indonesia needed to improve in the future.

"Yes, according to us, it is a good thing. But of course there are still many things we have to improve," said Pandu in Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

In its report, S&P Global also highlighted Danantara Indonesia and PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (Persero) or DSI.

Danantara is considered a government program to encourage national economic growth, while DSI is seen as an effort to increase state revenues through exports, provided that its implementation runs well.

Pandu welcomed the assessment. According to him, the positive spotlight on Danantara and DSI is the initial capital in carrying out various strategic programs.

"Alhamdulillah, Danantara is mentioned well there, DSI is also mentioned well there. Yes, of course it is the initial capital of good work," he said.

For information, previously, S&P Global and Moody's also gave Danantara Investment Management (DIM) a rating for the first time.

The Danantara investment holding company received a BBB long-term and A-2 short-term credit rating with a stable outlook from S&P Global, while Moody's gave a Baa2 rating with a negative outlook.
