TMII Rebuked By Disparekraf, Deputy Governor Of DKI: We Ask Not To Accept Visitors Of Children Under 12 Years Old

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria confirmed the entry ban for visitors to tourist attractions who are still under the age of 12. Rules related to restrictions on tourist attractions called Riza must be obeyed.

This was conveyed by Deputy Governor Riza when responding to a warning from the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). TMII was once caught allowing visitors under the age of 12 to enter, which was against the rules for restricting tourist attractions according to the Decree of the Governor of DKI.

“Yes, we ask TMII and others not to accept visits from children under 12 years old. Only malls are allowed, the rest are tourist attractions that are not allowed. So we ask to be guarded because it can cause the spread of COVID to children," said Deputy Governor Riza to reporters, Friday, October 1.

Riza emphasized that strict supervision would be carried out on tourism objects in Jakarta. Tourism managers are also asked to ensure the rules are implemented, including health protocols.

In addition, Riza also appealed to parents to make sure not to bring children under 12 years old to tourist attractions.

"Children under 12 years old are under the control of their parents, those who must be responsible for traveling to tourist attractions should not bring children, especially those under 12 years old," said Riza.
