Letter To Jokowi, National Police Chief Recruits 56 KPK Employees Fired As National Police ASN

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo will recruit 56 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) who were fired because they did not pass the national insight test (TWK). They will be used as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in Bhayangkara Corps.

In the recruitment effort, the National Police Chief has written to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The letter relates to a request for permission regarding the recruitment of KPK employees who will be fired on September 30.

"We have sent a letter to the President asking for 56 people who did the TWK test who did not pass the test and were not appointed as KPK State Civil Apparatus so that we could withdraw them and then recruit them to become National Police State Civil Apparatus", said Sigit, Tuesday, September 28.

The National Police Chief also admitted that he had received a reply letter from Jokowi. The content is about giving the blessing to make dozens of members of the KPK as National Police State Civil Apparatus.

"We received a letter of response from the President through the Minister of State Secretary in writing that in principle he agreed to the 56 KPK employees to become National Police State Civil Apparatus", said Sigit.

On the other hand, Sigit also revealed the reasons behind the recruitment. One of them, the Police need human resources to strengthen the line of action against corruption cases. Moreover, the Police are currently also focusing on handling the recovery of COVID-19.

"We see that it is related to the track record and of course experience in corruption, which of course is very useful for strengthening the ranks of the organization that we are developing to strengthen the Polri organization", said the National Police Chief.
