Atalia Kamil Invites Residents To Become Foster Parents Of Orphans

BANDUNG - Head of the West Java Province Family Welfare Empowerment Mobilization Team (TP-PKK) Atalia Praratya Ridwan Kamil invites residents to become foster parents for orphans who have lost their parents due to COVID-19.

"There are still many orphans who still need to be helped, therefore through the foster care program which will kick off tomorrow, the West Java community can be involved so that later no child will not get the right to grow and develop optimally," said Atalia in JAPRI (Jabar Got Information) themed "Inspiration for Orphans" at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 27.

Atalia said there were 6,000 to 7,000 children in West Java who had lost their parents due to COVID-19.

Of this number, 2,500 children will receive assistance through the Empowerment and Protection program for Orphans, Orphans, and Orphans Impact of COVID-19.

"However, there are only about 2,500 that we can directly help from a collection of good people in the Social Service, Zakat Forum and DP3AKB areas," said Atalia.

The West Java Provincial Government plans to start the program on Tuesday, September 28. There are three stages in the program, namely short term, medium term, and long term.

Atalia explained that one of the activities in the program was to gather foster guardians for orphans, orphans, and orphans affected by COVID-19. He invited the community to collaborate with the government to help meet the needs of these children.

According to Atalia, children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19 have several psychological problems such as depression and unstable emotions.

Therefore, it is a shared task to restore psychologically so that the child does not continue to feel the loss which the process takes quite a long time.

"In addition, it is also necessary for all parties to help improve the welfare of our children and provide the best for them," he said.

Handling orphans, orphans, and orphans is the concern of the West Java PKK. Atalia said the PKK cooperated with the West Java Disdukcapil to collect data.

In addition, the Dasawisma and PAAR (Parenting for Children and Youth) Programs are also continuously run by every PKK cadre that focuses on orphans, orphans, and orphans.

"Then we have the orphaned kencleng program, the Toddler Food Ojek (Omaba) to the bagja guardian that connects foster parents such as matchmaking," he said.

"Every child has the right to get protection, love, including the warmth of the family in it. Therefore, let's work together to support this program so that orphans get their rights," he said.
