Man In North Tapanuli Burns Brother-in-Law While Sleeping, His Motive Is Upset, His Wife Forced To Debt Through Pinjol

MEDAN - A man in North Tapanuli (Taput) Regency, North Sumatra named Iwanto Lubis (39), was arrested by the police for burning his brother-in-law, Mawar Fransisca (39). The suspect did this while the victim was sleeping.

The Taput Police Chief, AKBP Ronald FC Sipayung, said that Iwanto was arrested Tuesday, September 21 after two months of running away. The incident occurred at the suspect's house in Lubis Village, Pagaran District, Friday, July 26.

The incident began when the victim came to visit the suspect's house and offered his wife an online loan. This situation irritated the suspect.

"It was his brother-in-law who always asked the suspect's wife to borrow Pinjol (online loans) and also borrowed from his neighbors, for his (victim's) needs," said AKBP Ronald in his statement, Monday, September 27.

Annoyed with his brother-in-law, the suspect then burned his sister-in-law with gasoline. Before carrying out the action, the suspect first waited for his brother-in-law to fall asleep.

"The suspect was desperate to pour gasoline on the body of his brother-in-law who was sleeping at his house. His body was burned from the thigh to the leg," said Ronald.

However, at that time, his brother-in-law was sleeping with his biological son YP (10). As a result, his biological son was also burned.

"At that time, his brother-in-law slept with the suspect's child so that seepage of the fire hit his own child," said Ronald.

However, Ronald did not specify which part of the body the child was hit by the fire. The two were then taken to the hospital. Meanwhile Iwanto fled.
