Police Arrest One Murderer Whose Victim Buried Under The Bintan Sutet Tower

TANJUNGPINANG - Tanjungpinang Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Fernando confirmed that one suspect in the murder of local resident Zainudin (49), was arrested in Tembilahan, Riau Province.

"The perpetrator was detained by a joint team from the Tanjungpinang Police and the Riau Islands Police (Kepri)," Fernando said, quoted by Antara, Monday, September 27.

The police chief said that until now the joint team was still carrying out further development. They have not been able to explain the motive for the murder.

"Further developments will soon be conveyed to media colleagues," said Fernando.

The murder victim, Zainudin, has been missing since September 5, 2021. The police found the victim's body buried under an extra-high voltage (sutet) overhead line in Teluk Sebong District, Bintan Regency, Sunday, September 26.

Before that, the police first found the victim's Toyota Avanza BP 1921 TI was badly damaged and drowned in Blue Lake, which is also in the Bintan Regency area.

The victim's family hopes that the police can solve this case clearly.

They also appreciated that the police had succeeded in apprehending a suspect in the murder of Zainudin.

"We hope that the perpetrators are severely punished," said a relative of the victim's family who did not want to be named.
