KKB Shot KKB's Dead Body Of The Nemangkawi Task Force To Be Flew To Aceh

JAKARTA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attacked members of the TNI-Polri who were at the Kiwirok Police Station. As a result of the attack, a member of the Indonesian National Police, Bharatu Muhammad Kurniadi Sutio, was shot and killed.

"The shootout resulted in the death of one member of the Nemangkawi Task Force," said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Mustafa Kamal, to VOI, Sunday, September 26.

The gunfight began when members of the TNI-Polri stood guard at the Kiwirok Police Station. However, at around 04.50 WIT, members of the KKB led by Lamek Alipki Taplo attacked and ended up shooting each other.

"Bharatu Muhammad Kurniadi Sutio received a gunshot wound under his right armpit," said Kamal.

Bharatu Muhammad Kurniadi Sutio's life could not be saved even though first aid had been given. The plan is that the body will be taken to his hometown in Aceh.

"It is planned that the body will be flown to his hometown in Kampung Paniang Aceh. Through Sukarno Hatta Airport to Kuala Namo Airport Medan and then to Kampung Paniang Aceh," said Kamal.

Earlier on Tuesday (21/9), Pratu Ida Bagus Putu, a member of Infantry Battalion 403/WP, died in a shootout with KKB in Kiwirok while securing the airport for the evacuation of the body of health worker Gabriela Meilan.
