JAKARTA - House of Representatives Speaker, Puan Maharani, praised the appearance of her mother, PDI Perjuangan Chairwoman, Megawati Soekarnoputri, who wore a red bomber jacket.

This happened during the moment of appreciation for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games (Paralympic Games) athletes at the PDI Perjuangan Office, Diponegoro Street, Jakarta on Friday, September 24.

According to her, Megawati's appearance is more millennial than hers, who appears to be wearing a red shirt complete with a bull logo on the left chest.

"It turns out that my mother (Megawati, ed) is more millennial and wears a sports sweater. When I saw that I lost. I was really neat. Forgot this was a sporting event", said Puan when praising her mother, which was then greeted with applause from the guests and staff of PDIP.

According to Puan, this is the first time she has attended an event in person at the party office after the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that he was deliberately present to give the greatest appreciation to the athletes who fought at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

"This is pride. We are both supportive, happy and of course, we must maintain this spirit, fight for it and we will help push it to be able to improve future achievements", she said.

Puan also expressed her appreciation and felt proud of the achievements made by the athletes in the sports event.

"We will continue to support, help, and work together for the achievements of our fellow athletes in the future", she said.

When the activity was carried out, the atmosphere of cohesiveness was felt. Puan together with the Chairperson of the PDIP for Youth and Sports, Eriko Sotarduga, went on the stage together to give appreciation.

Next, Eriko and the Secretary-General of the PDIP, Hasto Kristiyanto, went to the stage to give gifts. Hasto greets sports by fighting hands. He also saluted the athletes and administrators.

Eriko as the initiator of the event expressed his gratitude because the event could run smoothly. Eriko said that according to Megawati's direction, the sport has become a culture within the PDIP party.

"Thank God the event went smoothly. We are also proud of the achievements made by our athletes. With their fighting spirit, they can make the nation proud", he concluded.
