Former Mayor Of Cilegon Iman Ariyadi Convicted Of Bribery Case Free Of Pure

JAKARTA - The former mayor of Cilegon, Banten, Tubagus Iman Ariyadi was declared free after serving four years in prison in Serang Class IIA Prison, Thursday, September 23.

The decision to be free of pure faith is stated in the Letter of Release Number W12. PAS.PAS.5.PK.01.04.06-703 of 2021 which was signed by the Head of Class IIA Serang Prison.

Iman has served a 4-year sentence in the bribery case for obtaining an Environmental Impact Analysis permit for the construction of the Transmart mall in 2017.

Head of Serang Prison, Heri Kusrita, said that his party detained Iman in Serang Prison on September 23, 2017.

"He has served a full sentence of four years, without any remission because he was included in the corruption case," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 23.

During his period of detention, continued Heri, Iman was known as a person who diligently worshiped and protected other inmates, in fact, he often became a preacher during Friday prayers.

"There is no miscellaneous behavior from him," said Heri.

Iman Ariyadi was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Panel of Judges at the Serang Corruption Court on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

In addition to imprisonment, Iman is required to pay a fine of Rp. 250 million, subsidiary to three months in prison.

Faith was proven to have violated Article 12 letter an of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption which was amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code Jo. Article 64 (1) of the Criminal Code.
