INDRAMAYU - Members of the Satreskrim Polres Indramayu, West Java, arrested a stepmother and a hired killer who killed her child out of jealousy.

"This case began with the discovery of a boy's body in the Prawira River, Indramayu Regency. And after being investigated it turned out to be a murder victim," said Indramayu Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner M. Lukman Syarif quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 23.

Lukman said that there were two suspects arrested in the murder case, namely Saniya Aditya (20) the victim's stepmother, and Syaifudin (26) a hired killer. Both are residents of Indramayu Regency.

According to him, the murder case against the child began with the discovery of the victim's body by residents in the river.

When the victim was found to be in a decomposed state, members of the Indramayu Police received a report of a missing child a few days earlier. "After a DNA test was carried out with the victim's biological father, it turned out to be a match," he said.

Lukman said that after receiving information from the victim's father, an investigation was carried out, and then the case began to slowly unfold after the testimonies of several people.

Then continued Lukman, from the testimony of witnesses that the victim before being found dead was brought by a man with the characteristics of a punk boy.

"After receiving this information, we immediately secured the suspect (Syaifudin), and from his confession it was he who killed the victim by throwing him into the river," he explained.

The suspect, Syaifudin, admitted that he had been ordered to do so because the suspect, Saniya Aditya (20), who was the victim's stepmother, was accompanied by a reward.

Lukman added that the stepmother's motive for committing the murder was motivated by jealousy, where the victim's father loved his biological child more.

"As a result of their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 340 or 338 of the Criminal Code concerning child protection, with the threat of death or life imprisonment," he said.
