3 Days Lost, Fisherman From Deli Serdang Found Dead In Labu Beach Waters

MEDAN - The joint SAR team found a fisherman named Jamaluddin Ahmad (48), a resident of Hamlet IV Paluh Sibaji, who was missing in Labu Beach, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

Medan SAR Office Public Relations Officer, Sariman Sitorus, said the victim was found at 10.40 WIB. The victim has died.

"The victim was found dead about 4.26 NM (Nautical Mile) southwest of the position where the last victim was suspected of missing", said Sariman, Wednesday, September 22.

Sariman explained that the search started from the initial location of the suspected missing victim to the waters of Pantai Cermin.

"The victim was found by fishermen who were passing by, then immediately reported to the team in the field. Then immediately evacuated and taken to the funeral home to be buried", said Sariman.

It is known that the victim was first declared missing on Monday, September 20. The victim went to sea alone to fish from Deli Beach as far as 8 NM.

"But at around 11.00 WIB, a fisherman found the victim's boat with the engine running but without a crew", said Sariman.

Upon this finding, the fisherman reported the incident to the victim's family. Furthermore, the family and residents searched but the victim was never found and reported to Water and Air Police of Labu Beach.
