The Government Will Determine National Holidays And Joint Leave For 2022 Following The Development Of COVID-19

JAKARTA - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo, Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah signed a Joint Decree (SKB) on National Holidays and Joint Leave of 2022.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy said the government had held a meeting to determine national holidays and joint leave for 2022.

As a result, the scheduling of national holidays and collective leave next year will take into account the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The 2022 joint leave will be determined later taking into account the development of COVID-19. The determination of national holidays and collective leave will still take into account the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia," Muhadjir said in a virtual press conference, Wednesday, September 22.

In addition, the determination of national holidays and joint leave also takes into account aspects of tourism, the economy, and so on. Then, the evaluation of the pandemic over the last 2 years is also a point of consideration for scheduling.

Regarding the rules for implementing national holidays and collective leave for the private sector, the Ministry of Manpower will regulate. Meanwhile, ASN will be determined by the KemenpanRB.

"Hopefully next year the pandemic can be handled properly so that the three points will be determined and then joint leave will be realized in 2022," he said.
