Police: Goat Thief With Slit Mode Turns Out To Often Occur In Bekasi Regency

JAKARTA - Muara Gembong Police Chief Iptu Taupik Hidayat explained that cases of goat theft with the slashing/slaughter mode often occur in Bekasi. Taupik said, this method is done so that the action runs smoothly, the goat is not noisy when it is stolen.

"So the goats don't make a sound. That's their method. These perpetrators are specialists in stealing goats by slaughtering them, and have carried out their actions in several areas in Bekasi district in the same way," the police chief told reporters, Tuesday, September 21.

Taupik explained that his party received reports from residents regarding a number of goats belonging to breeders who often went missing. Residents, still said Taupik, were curious and set a trap to find out the cause of the disappearance of the goat when it was displayed on the edge of the pond.

And sure enough, finally one of the three perpetrators was caught. Now his party is still chasing two goat thief gangs who are still at large.

"We already know the identities of the two perpetrators, we are still hunting for other evidence that was taken away by the two perpetrators," said Taupik.

Previously, the Muara Gembong Police had arrested one perpetrator named Endang Suhana alias SS (45) with evidence of 5 goats that had been slaughtered.

"The SS perpetrators are tasked with finding targets where the goats will be stolen," he said.

"From the hands of the perpetrators, five goats were confiscated. One cartridge type knife and one cell phone unit. Meanwhile, two other perpetrators whose identities have been identified are still being pursued by the Muara Gembong Police," he told reporters, Tuesday, September 21.

For his actions, SS was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of five years in prison. The goat theft case is still being handled by the Muara Gembong Police in order to hunt down other goat thief gangs.
