CIANJUR - The truck driver from Serang-Banten who allegedly ran over a teenager who was blocking a truck in Cianjur, West Java, has surrendered to the Cianjur Police Headquarters.

"The driver who ran over the teenager who was blocking the truck and killed him on Jalan Raya Cianjur-Sukabumi, to be precise in Jambudipa Village, Warungkondang District, finally surrendered himself to the Traffic Traffic Unit of the Cianjur Police, accompanied by the company," said Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP Doni Hermawan, quoted by Antara, Monday. , September 20.

Based on the results of the examination, the truck driver admitted that he did not know that the group of teenagers who were blocking his truck had been run over, because at the time of the incident no one stopped or chased the truck he was driving. At that time, he continued his journey to the city of Serang.

Even the new driver found out that he ran over a teenager who was blocking his truck in Cianjur, through the news on television. From there, the driver asked to be accompanied by the company to surrender himself to the Cianjur Police Headquarters.

However, it is possible that the status of the truck driver was raised to a suspect. Because, based on the results of the scene of the incident, it is suspected that there was an element of intent with no braking point found.

"We are looking into the possibility of being a suspect," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Traffic at Cianjur Police, AKP Mangku Anom, added that the alleged perpetrator did not know if the victim died while crossing the scene in Cianjur. Based on the results of the investigation of the crime scene, the truck driver can be accused of Article 311 of the Criminal Code as a driver who can endanger the lives of others.

"But the accusation of Article 311 of the Criminal Code does not meet the elements, the alleged perpetrator must be released because he is not guilty, but it must still be investigated," he said.

He explained that a number of teenagers who were involved in the creation of dangerous content could also be subject to Article 132 of the Traffic Law for crossing inappropriately. It does not rule out human values and norms that suspected malicious content creators are minors.

"The incident can be seen clearly under Article 132, where they tried to cross in an inappropriate manner. However, we are still investigating this," he said.
