Stress Due To Divorce, Farmers In Depok Desperate To Hang Himself

DEPOK - Residents of Pulo village, Rangkap Jaya sub-district, Pancoranmas, Depok were shocked by the discovery of the body of SM (52 years old) who had hanged himself from a jackfruit tree behind his house.

SM is suspected of not being able to hold back the shame of being sued for divorce by his wife.

"The incident was discovered by local residents who were passing around an empty garden and saw someone hanging by a rope from a jackfruit tree," said Pancoran Mas Police Chief, Commissioner Tri Harjadi, accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Pancoran Mas Police, Insp. Syaid Abu, Sunday, September 19.

The discovery of a body hanging from a jackfruit tree had shocked local residents because the victim named SM worked as a farmer every day and did not appear to have complicated problems.

According to him, statements from witnesses and their families turned out to be SM who took his live because of domestic conflicts.

"We received information from the witness that the victim was being sued for divorce from his wife," he said.

However, his party is still conducting further investigations because the victim's family is still in a grieving situation.

"The condition of the family is still grieving so they cannot be asked about the case," he said.
