Deputy Governor Of DKI Calls Odd-Even In Important Tourist Places To Avoid Crowds

JAKARTA - Several tourist attractions in Jakarta have been opened by implementing the odd-even scheme in two places, namely Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and Taman Impian Jaya Ancol.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that the implementation of odd-even in tourist areas during PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) Level 3 is currently being carried out to prevent crowds from visiting visitors.

"Odd-even is intended to reduce traffic jams, to prevent crowds from tourist attractions, and so on", said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, September 17.

Riza asked the public to understand the purpose of implementing odd-even in tourist attractions. People who want to visit tourist attractions are asked to come when the vehicle number matches the odd and even dates. So, visitors to tourist attractions do not explode.

"Then he will move (visit tourist attractions) to use the number according to the day and date", he said.

The odd-even scheme at these two tourist attractions will come into effect as of today. So, in the future on every weekend only vehicles according to the date can enter these tourist attractions.

Odd-even applies every Friday from 12.00 WIB to Sunday at 18.00 WIB. Every visitor who enters tourist attractions must have been vaccinated by showing a COVID-19 vaccine certificate using the PeduliLindung application.

The odd-even application at the two tourist attractions refers to the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 1096 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Level 3 Coronavirus Disease 2019 Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).

In addition, it also refers to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 42 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Level 4, Level 3, and Level 2 Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the Java and Bali Regions.

Meanwhile, the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said this odd-even scheme was only applied at the entrance of tourist attractions. "So odd-even places only apply at the entrance of tourist attractions", he said.

One of the considerations for implementing odd-even is because the government does not want tourist areas to cause congestion. Moreover, roads around tourist attractions are also used by the general public.
