JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan inaugurated the new name for the Rorotan Sports Center (GOR), as GOR Sekda Saefullah. The GOR, whose construction has been completed since 2019, is located in Rorotan Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

This naming is based on the Governor's Decree Number 28 of 1999 concerning Guidelines for Determining the Names of Streets, Parks and Public Buildings in DKI Jakarta.

The name change has also been ratified in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 115 of 2021 concerning the Determination of the Name of the Saefullah Regional Secretary's Sports Center.

Quoted from a statement from the DKI Provincial Government Public Relations, Thursday, September 16, Governor Anies said the naming was inaugurated exactly one year after the death of the late Saefullah on September 16, 2020. This was done to commemorate, and appreciate, as well as respect the services of the deceased for DKI Jakarta.

"At the same time, this naming is to be an inspiration for young people, the new generation in the Rorotan area. They can see that there is a Rorotan son who grows up, at a time when this place still lacks facilities, lacks infrastructure, and can become a person who provides benefits very big for the capital city," said Anies.

Anies hopes that the naming will inspire young people in Rorotan, so that they can match the achievements of the late Saefullah when he was still alive. In addition, Anies left a message to local residents to be able to make the best use of the Sekda Saefullah GOR.

"We hope that in the future this place will continue to be a place to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in the Rorotan community as well as hope that outstanding athletes will emerge from this very good place. God willing, this naming marks as written in the inscription, marking the endless flow of rewards for the deceased. The last message, I hope this is all well maintained, neat, orderly and clean so that this GOR can last," said Anies.
