The 99 Dome Mosque At Makassar CPI Will Be Used In October, The South Sulawesi DPRD Questions The Small Place For Wudu

MAKASSAR - The Provincial Government of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) through the Public Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Service (PUTR) promised the 99 Dome Mosque located in the reclamation area of Central Points of Indonesia (CPI) to be operational in October.

"God willing, next month (October) it will be functional. The progress has now reached 83 percent," said Head of Human Settlements of the South Sulawesi PUTR Office, Haeruddin, during a budget meeting in Commission D room, South Sulawesi DPRD Office, in Makassar quoted by Antara, Tuesday, 14 September.

Haeruddin explained that the continuation of the completion of the mosque project was due to the allocation of a budget ceiling of Rp. 22.3 billion and it had been carried out several months ago.

However, on the way there were delays, because a number of workers were exposed to COVID-19, thereby reducing the volume of work that should have been completed.

In addition, another factor is the Government's policy through the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM), considering that the delivery of materials imported from Java is experiencing obstacles.

"There is still time for work contracts with third parties with 17 working days remaining. We are optimistic that by the end of this month the progress has been 90 percent. We have also submitted a request for a change in time, looking at the remaining workload," he continued.

Regarding the completion of the roof of the dome and the main minaret of the mosque, it has been completed, but there are still 16 additional domes left to be installed in the next work. The most important thing is that this mosque can be used in October, he said.

Chairman of Commission D DPRD South Sulawesi Rahma Pina questioned, the place for ablution at this mosque is considered too small, even though the location and capacity of the mosque can accommodate hundreds of worshipers. On the other hand, the supporting facilities are not adequate.

In addition to highlighting the place for ablution, Rahman Pina also questioned the floor tiles outside the mosque, because they will absorb heat. Even though it will later be used by the community and visitors at the Lego-lego location to carry out worship.

"Because this mosque is exclusive, the facilities should also be first-class. I saw that the ablution place is very small, it should be big like a big mosque in general. Likewise, the floor outside the mosque will be hot, especially since the mosque is located on the beach. Of course this is an obstacle, if not noticed," he said.

Previously, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government budgeted for the construction of the 99 Dome Mosque with a total budget of Rp.

In the third phase of 2021, the PUTR Service has prepared a ceiling of Rp. 24.5 billion for functional work with a construction period of six months, April-October 2021. Meanwhile, during the auction process, the budget is Rp. 22.3 billion.
