A Gust Of Wind And Damaged Engine Are Suspected To Be The Cause Of The Helicopter Rolled In Tangerang

JAKARTA - The police said there were several possible reasons for the overturning of a helicopter belonging to the Aviation Facility Calibration Center. Some of them are damaged engines and strong wind gusts.

"Yes, there is a possibility of a slight technical problem in the engine and then it only flew 100 meters, but according to the captain, it was because of the wind," said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Grand Commissioner Yusri Yunus to reporters, Monday, September 13.

The possible cause of the incident is based on information from the helicopter captain. However, further observations are needed to determine the real cause.

"This is just an initial statement that just flew 100 meters there was a slight engine disturbance when descending, the wind was so strong that it crashed. That's just temporary," said Yusri.

Regarding the condition of the helicopter crew, Yusri said they only suffered minor injuries. Currently, they have been treated by the medical team.

"Congratulations, only minor injuries. Meanwhile, the Curug PPI health unit is handling it. We'll just keep it safe," said Yusri.

Previously, a helicopter belonging to the Aviation Facility Calibration Center had an accident in the Tangerang area this morning.

The incident occurred at around 10.25 western Indonesia time. At that time the helicopter was conducting routine training activities.
