JAKARTA - The head of Tangerang Class I prison, Victor Teguh Prihartono, will be questioned, Tuesday, September 14 tomorrow. Today, investigators examined prison officers.

"We plan to conduct an inspection tomorrow at 10 a.m. on the Tangerang Class I Kalapas. We schedule the Kalapas for tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14, 2021", said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Yusri Yunus, to reporters, Monday, September 13.

According to Yusri, today 14 prisons are being examined. They were questioned about a prison fire that claimed dozens of lives.

"We carried out an examination where these 14 people were on duty", he said.

Not only that, but investigators also examined six people from outside the prison. They are three PLN employees and the rest are firefighters.

"(Total) Plus the previous 14, plus 3 and 3 so 20 witnesses," said Yusri.

Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan said that the Tangerang prison official who will be questioned is Victor Teguh Prihartono. He served as the Head of the Prison (Kalapas).

It is planned that the inspection will be carried out today. This is because the summons for the examination has been sent for some time.

"So the plan is that after the summons an examination will be carried out, the examination as a witness will be carried out on Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Metro Jaya Police", said Ramadhan.

Meanwhile, the Tangerang Class I Prison caught fire on Wednesday, September 8, in the early hours of the morning. As a result, 44 inmates died due to the incident.

Dozens of inmates could not save themselves. Because when the fire broke out, the prison cell was locked. While the officers did not have time to open the cells of the victims.
