PTM Trial, DPR Asks Regional Education Office To Pay Attention To School Readiness

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, asked the Regional Education Office to pay attention to the condition of schools that have implemented limited face-to-face learning (PTM).

According to him, PTM must refer to the Joint Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs regarding Guidelines for the Implementation of Learning for the 2020/2021 Academic Year during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The readiness of the study room to the school environment according to the standards that apply in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic must really be done. Make sure students continue to keep their distance and wear masks, and also the toilets in schools must be hygienic", Muhaimin told reporters, Friday, September 10.

It is known, the government has been running PTM for almost the last two weeks in several areas.

The general chairman of the Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Party, reminded the government to listen to the people's aspirations for the evaluation of the PTM trial. Because, said Muhaimin, several things need to be considered for joint evaluation.

One of them is the concern of parents regarding the supervision of children at school. Because, according to him, there are still many students who are clustered, both at school and after school.

"Such things make parents worried, considering that the Coronavirus still exists, although in some areas there has been a decline in positive confirmed cases", said Cak Imin, his nickname.

Cak Imin assessed that school supervision should be stricter until the students arrive at their respective homes safely. He also asked the school not to force students to buy new uniforms, as many parents have complained about. Because of the economic conditions of the people who are still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Indeed, schools should provide uniforms and free books for students whose parents are experiencing economic difficulties. There must be an empathetic approach so as not to burden the people", he concluded.
