KPK Reveals State Administrators With Minus IDR 1.7 Trillion Assets

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that there are state officials whose assets are minus IDR 1.7 trillion. This is known because each official is obliged to report his assets as a step for monitoring and preventing corruption.

"There is also an interesting lowest value of assets, which among institutional ministries still report that their assets are minus IDR 1.7 trillion," said KPK Deputy Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan in an online discussion broadcast on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Tuesday, September 7. .

However, he did not specify who the official in question was. However, Pahala only said that the official was in the ranks of the ministry or agency.

As for the highest assets, he said there were officials whose assets reached IDR 8 trillion. However, again Pahala did not elaborate and only said the official owned a large company.

"If the entrepreneur usually fills in the price of the shares, but not the value of the company, how many shares are listed, that's all that is recorded," he said.

Pahala also mentioned that many members of the DPD and DPR have huge debts. This shows that not all officials in Indonesia are rich people.

"So, don't think that all of these people have big assets, because there are also reported that the number of services, aka debts, is more than their wealth," he said.

Previously, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri asked state officials to routinely report their LHKPN. Moreover, many people have been misguided if reports are only made when they are about to take office and after their term of office is finished.

In addition, the former Deputy for Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission also mentioned the low level of compliance of members of the DPR RI in reporting LHKPN. He said that as of September 6 yesterday, only 58 percent of legislators had submitted reports to the anti-corruption commission, a decrease compared to 74 percent in the previous period.

In fact, said Firli, reporting assets is a form of responsibility of legislators to their voters as well as a way to control themselves from corrupt practices.
