BMKG Weather Forecast: Beware Of Potential Floods In South And East Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning to the public to be aware of potential flooding in South Jakarta and East Jakarta, Tuesday.

Reported by Antara, Tuesday, September 7, according to an official statement monitored on the official BMKG website, Jakarta, Tuesday morning, there is the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta and East Jakarta from Tuesday afternoon to evening.

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in the areas of Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Jakarta and East Jakarta between the afternoon and evening. Be aware of potential flooding in the South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas," the BMKG wrote.

On Tuesday morning, according to BMKG, the weather in all areas of DKI Jakarta will be cloudy. However, on Tuesday afternoon the cloudy will turn into moderate-intensity rain which will lash West Jakarta and Central Jakarta. Thunderstorms are predicted in South Jakarta, while East Jakarta will experience heavy rains.

In North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands, light rain is predicted on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday evening, the intensity of the rain subsided. West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta will still experience rain but the intensity will be light. Meanwhile, the weather in North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands will be cloudy, according to the BMKG.
