JAKARTA - South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Azis Andriansyah explained that the motive for the murder at the Picasso In Hotel, Cilandak, South Jakarta, was because the perpetrator with the initials HA (41) was offended by his body being called smelly and dirty by the victim, LD (21).

"The motive for the perpetrator to commit the crime was to feel offended and emotional because it was said that his body was smelly and dirty", the police chief told reporters on Monday, September 6.

It was also explained that the victim and the perpetrator communicated through the MiChat application before finally deciding to meet at the hotel.

"They do not have a relationship with each other, but they communicate through MiChat, where they made an appointment and met for the first time that night," Azis told reporters. Monday, September 6.

From the results of the examination at the crime scene and reconstruction, the perpetrator explained that he also confiscated the victim's valuables.

"When he was arrested, other evidence was obtained in the form of the victim's belongings, namely cellphones, ATMs, and other items that were in the hands of the perpetrators. It is strongly suspected that the person concerned is the perpetrator. In addition, CCTV was found at the place which identified the person", he said.

As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with multiple articles. Namely, Article 338 of the Criminal Code related to murder and Article 365 of the Criminal Code related to theft with violence that causes the loss of another person's life.

"The suspect faces 15 years in prison", he said.
