CIANJUR - The joint SAR team of Polair and BPBD Cianjur, West Java is still trying to find angler Ius Saepudin who was reported missing and drowned while fishing with several friends in Jangari Reservoir, Kamurang Village, Cikalongkulon District, Cianjur.

Head of the Bandung SAR Office, Deden Ridwansah when contacted, said that his party immediately sent a team to the location and immediately coordinated with the joint team of Polair and BPBD Cianjur.

"The victim was reported missing and drowned on Sunday morning because his friend did not find the victim who was several tens of meters apart, only the victim's fishing rod was on the raft, the elderly victim was suspected to have drowned," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Sunday, September 5. .

As of late afternoon, the joint team had not been able to locate the victim, who was suspected to be stuck in the riverbed or carried by the undercurrent further. As a result, the team conducted a search with a radius of 1 kilometer from the first location where the victim was reported missing.

The search for Cirata Reservoir was carried out. Even the team was divided into several groups, assisted by fishermen around the reservoir.

Meanwhile, the other team conducted a search by combing the river bank in the hope that the victim's body could be found quickly.

Secretary of BPBD Cianjur Irfan Sopyan added, throughout this year, there have been several cases of drowning anglers in the Cirata or Jangari Reservoir. He appealed to anglers to be extra careful and alert, especially when fishing at night.

"We also urge the anglers not to be far apart, especially when fishing at night. We suspect that the victim fell asleep and fell into the reservoir, plus the victim can't swim, we hope the team can find the victim's body as soon as possible," he said.
