Secretary General Of The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Ensures That Immigration Officers Involved In Drug Cases Are Strictly Actioned

JAKARTA - Immigration officials, whoever it is, who are involved in drug cases at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights must be given strict sanctions. This emphasis came from the Secretary-General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Commissioner General (Komjen) Pol Andap Budhi Revianto

"The Secretary-General has given directions that anyone involved in drug cases must be dealt with firmly," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Tubagus Erif Faturahman, to Antara, Sunday, September 5 in Jakarta.

He said that Commissioner-General Andap Budhi Revianto would also not tolerate officials who were caught in narcotics cases, so strict action was needed to provide a deterrent effect and serve as a warning to others.

In line with that, the Head of Public Relations and General Affairs of the Directorate General of Immigration Anggakara Arya Pradhana confirmed the arrest of a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in a place in Makassar.

"Yes, N is an immigration officer," he said.

The immigration official with the initials N was arrested by South Sulawesi Regional Police officers on suspicion of drug abuse. N previously served at the Directorate General of Immigration, but since early 2021 he has been transferred to the South Sulawesi Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office.

"The Directorate General of Immigration has completely handed over this case to the authorities for legal processing. In addition, we are carrying out internal guidance to the person concerned," he said.
