Justiciary And Rapid Test Results, Dozens Of PMKS In East Jakarta Exposed To COVID-19

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Social Sub-Department noted that dozens of people with social welfare problems (PMKS) were exposed to the COVID-19 virus. The data was recorded from June 2020 to August 2021.

"From a total of thousands of PMKS reached, there are decades of confirmation. The exact number is below 50," said East Jakarta Social Sub-dept. Purwono when confirmed, Sunday, August 5.

The results of the rapid test on PMKS were known since the PMKS who were captured were collected in temporary shelters. After being checked, they were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"So at this temporary shelter PMKS reached are tested for antigen swab. If they are negative for COVID-19 and do not have family members, they are sent to social institutions," he said.

Purwono said PMKS who were confirmed to have COVID-19 were referred to a special isolation place determined by the East Jakarta Health Sub-dept. based on their condition.

They have now tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing isolation and receiving medical treatment. PMKS with family members is returned to their respective families, while those without family members are sent to social institutions.

"Until now PMKS that were reached were not immediately placed in nursing homes. First, they were accommodated in temporary shelters for inspection," he said.

The goal is that PMKS that has just been reached and confirmed by COVID-19 does not create new clusters.

As previously reported, the government has used the Ciracas Sports Building as a temporary shelter for PMKS. However, since June 2021 the location has been moved to Ciracas Sports Building.

"But because yesterday the Ciracas Sports Building became the location of the COVID-19 mass vaccination center, so the temporary shelter was moved to the Kelapa Dua Wetan Sports Building. Until now it is still there," he said.

The East Jakarta Social Sub-Department admitted that it would cooperate with a number of private parties to hold mass COVID-19 vaccinations in PMKS groups in slum areas.

"Next week there will be a COVID-19 vaccination in Duren Sawit, we hope PMKS are enthusiastic about participating in the vaccination," he said.
