Jokowi Orders Ministry Of Health To Send More Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine To Lampung Province

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to send more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to Lampung Province.

He conveyed this when reviewing vaccination activities at SMA Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung City, Thursday, September 2.

At that time, Jokowi heard a report from a representative of the Satellite Health Center stating that the vaccination achievement in Lampung Province had reached around 62 percent.

According to the report, this figure could quickly increase again as long as the supply of COVID-19 vaccine from the government is smoother. Thus, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta immediately ordered the addition of the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine stock in the region.

"Later, I will order the Ministry of Health to increase the number of vaccines for Lampung Province", said Jokowi in a written statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, September 2.

At that time, President Jokowi also heard the representative of the Lampung Women's Prison, Yuyun. Through a teleconference, Yuyun expressed her gratitude because the government has paid attention to correctional institutions (prisons) to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

He also advised residents outside the prison to be injected with the COVID-19 vaccine and not be afraid.

"For people outside, don't be afraid to get vaccinated for our health. Hopefully, with the leadership of Mr. President Joko Widodo, Indonesia will progress in the future. Thank you, sir", said Yuyun.

"Yes, everyone in prison is healthy", said Jokowi.

Furthermore, President Jokowi also reminded all people to follow the vaccination program that is being run by the government and to remain disciplined in complying with health protocols.

"I also leave even though I have been vaccinated, I still wear a mask, keep a distance, and also avoid crowds. Don't forget to wash your hands after the activity", he concluded.
