PAN Denies Joining Jokowi's Coalition To Boost Electability Towards The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) Central Board, Viva Yoga Mauladi, emphasized that the joining of PAN in the coalition party of Joko Widodo's government has nothing to do with the electoral interests of the party.

"The election of any party is determined by its performance and struggle in the field so that the people can feel the benefits and existence of the party," said Viva to VOI, Thursday, September 2.

Viva stated that the joining of PAN to the coalition of Jokowi's parties was a form of service to the country.

"To bring goodness, to benefit the people, nation, and state, so that national ideals can be realized", he said.

It is known, cadres of the Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN) pushed their chairman, Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas), to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 General Election in the National Working Meeting a few days ago.

A political expert from Paramadina University, Hendri Satrio, assessed that Zulhas still has a chance in the 2024 General Election. However, there must be a series of programs that Zulhas carries out to boost electability. In the results of the IPO survey in mid-August, PAN's electability increased to 5.8 percent from April's 2.2 percent.

"If everyone has the opportunity today, including Zulhas in 2024, how to increase his chances to become the biggest, the question is, if that's the case, Mr. Zulhas must carry out various programs to increase electability", said Hendri Satrio, Thursday, September 2.
