JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Education Agency, Nahdiana, said that her party plans to open schools for face-to-face learning (PTM) every day in the third week.
During the first two weeks, PTM in 610 schools in Jakarta was conducted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Then, on Tuesday and Thursday, the school environment is sprayed with disinfectant.
"In the first two weeks, the cycle is now the school is open one day, then one day it is closed. One day the children enter, one day they are disinfected. Then in the third week, we start school opening every day", said Nahdiana in a virtual discussion, quoted on Thursday, September 2.
However, the opening of schools from Monday to Friday does not mean that all students also study in class every day. Each class continues to take turns attending school, as well as learning online from home.
"Let's say that elementary school students are studying in 6th grade schools. That's what we practice in blended learning. So, for example, there are 6 to 10 lessons a day, meaning that others have online lessons", explained Nahdiana.
Furthermore, Nahdiana also said that her party would increase the number of schools holding PTM in mid-September to 1.500 schools.
The increase in the number of schools opened is gradual. In the end, DKI will open all schools to implement limited PTM.
"Will all schools enter? According to our plan, yes. Because we can't discriminate against schools, for example, one school is allowed to hold the PTM, while others not", said Nahdiana.
"But schools that can do limited PTM are those that we have made sure are ready. What are the requirements? There are already 4 ministerial decrees, that's what we put into our instruments", she continued.
