Tourist Attractions In Bogor Are Still Prohibited From Operating, Except For The Indonesian Safari Park

CIBINONG - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Bogor, West Java, still prohibits the operation of tourist attractions during the PPKM extension period until September 6.

"It's still (closed), still being monitored by the monitoring team from the task force for tourism," said Bogor Regent Ade Yasin, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 1.

The head of the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force said that only the Indonesian Safari Park (TSI) in the Puncak area, Bogor was allowed to operate because it was classified as an animal conservation area.

"Actually, tourist sites are not allowed to open yet, but because this is conservation, here animals come from all over the country, and TSI doesn't get help from the central government, so they have difficulty providing feed and hospitals for animals are quite expensive," he said.

According to him, there are a number of requirements that TSI management needs to comply with while operating in the middle of PPKM, such as only opening a safari journey ride and a place to eat for visitors.

"Those that are closed, such as waterfalls, swimming pools, gathering places such as rides for performances are still not allowed to operate. Only safari journeys," said Ade Yasin.

Provisions regarding the opening for wildlife conservation are regulated through the Decree of the Bogor Regent Number 443/408/Kpts/Per-UU/2021 regarding the implementation of PPKM level 3.

Meanwhile, to anticipate an increase in the volume of vehicles on the Puncak Area tourist route, his party together with the Bogor Resort Police will immediately test the odd-even system on the Puncak and Sentul routes on two weekends starting on September 3.
