Police Still Hunting For Viral Dog Shooter In Malang, But Constrained By Eyewitnesses

MALANG - Police are still hunting for the dog shooter in Malang City, East Java, whose video has gone viral on social media. Malang City Police have examined 2 witnesses who are residents.

"The results are not yet, while we are still investigating only 2 people. In revealing this case we are constrained by witnesses", said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Malang City Police, Commissioner Tinton Yudha Riambodo, when contacted, Monday, August 30.

Police are currently gathering other evidence to hunt down the perpetrators.

"We will continue to explore and also need other clear evidence as well", he said.

Previously, a video with a duration of 1 minute 11 seconds was circulating on social media. In the video, the dog is shot and then dragged in the Dieng Hill area, Malang City, East Java.

This video was first uploaded by the Sarana Metta Indonesia Foundation Instagram account @christian_joshuapale. In the video, a man can be seen carrying an air rifle and suddenly shooting the dog at close range.

Shortly after, the dog that was shot was dragged away by another man. This video has angered netizens.
