Special Region Of Yogyakarta And Bali Still Level 4 PPKM

JAKARTA - The Special Regions of Yogyakarta and Bali are still implementing PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions) Level 4 on the extension of the Java-Bali.

"There are two agglomeration areas of level 4 DI Yogyakarta and Bali and I think these two will enter level 3 not next week in the next few days", said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Pandjaitan, at an online press conference, Monday, August 30.

Luhut explained that Bali is showing an improvement trend in COVID-19 cases. Therefore, Luhut believes that Bali will be able to enter level 3 of PPKM soon.

"Especially for Bali, in the direction of the president, he specifically asked for checking and intervention in the field. We will go to the field to see the obstacles faced so that the improvement trend can be accelerated", continued Luhut.

In his presentation, Luhut said that the national COVID-19 case had decreased by 90.4 percent today. For Java-Bali cases, the number has dropped to 94 percent per day from the peak of cases on July 15.

"The number of regencies/cities is level 2 from 10 to 67. Level 3 is from 67 to 76, level 4 is down from 51 to 25 (regencies/cities)", Luhut continued.

Previously, President Joko Widodo decided to extend the Java-Bali PPKM and outside the Java-Bali islands. There are additional PPKM level 3 areas in Java-Bali.

Jokowi in his statement said that the COVID-19 positivity rate in the last 7 days had continued to decline. Hospital bed occupancy has also improved with the national average BOR (bed occupancy rate) of around 27 percent.

"For this reason, the government has decided that from August 31 to September 6, 2021, the Java-Bali region will have additional level 3 agglomerations, namely Malang Raya and Solo Raya", Jokowi said in a statement broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat Youtube, Monday, August 30.

"So the level 3 regions in this week's PPKM, the agglomeration of Jabodetabek, Bandung Raya, Surabaya Raya, Malang Raya, Solo Raya. Semarang Raya has dropped to level two", Jokowi continued.
