JAKARTA - Member of the Ethics Council, Albertina Ho, said Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Lili Pintauli Siregar did not convey the communication she had done with the litigants, namely the inactive Mayor of Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra, M Syahrial, to other KPK leaders.

Lili Pintauli just announced about her communication with M Syahrial after there was a lot of news in the media including the media and received questions from the Chair of the KPK, Firli Bahuri.

"The examinee never informed other leaders that there was a relationship between the examinee and M Syahrial as the Mayor of Tanjungbalai and only notified after being asked by Firli Bahuri as the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission because the matter has gone viral," said Albertina in a hearing that was broadcast online, Monday, August 30. .

According to the trial assembly, Lili should immediately report any communication between her and M Syahrial to other leaders.

"Even after the issuance of the Sprindik in the name of M Syahrial, those who should have conveyed there was a conflict of interest in the case because they had been in contact with M Syahrial were also not carried out," said Albertina.

This is proof that Lili has committed an ethical violation. "The examinee is in contact with witness M Syahrial, who has a connection with the corruption case being handled by the KPK, according to the panel, it has been proven," he said.

Even so, Lili's actions did not necessarily prevent the handling of the case against M Syahrial regarding the alleged bribery of buying and selling positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government. Even sprindik has been published on April 15 last.

The reason is that this case has gone up to the investigation stage since November 26, 2019 when the leadership level was exposed last period.

"The corruption case of buying and selling positions involving Syahrial has been decided to go up to the investigation stage during the leadership level exposure on November 26, 2019 before being examined as a KPK leader," said Albertina.

Previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board found Lili guilty and violated the code of ethics because she was in contact with the litigant, namely the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial.

He was declared to have violated the code of ethics and code of conduct in the form of abusing the influence of the KPK leadership for personal interests and dealing directly with parties whose cases are being handled by the KPK as regulated in Article 4 Paragraph 2 Letter b and Dewas Regulation No. 2 of 2020.

For his actions, Tumpak Hatorangan et al imposed severe sanctions in the form of cutting his basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months.
