Dozens Of Poso Terrorists' High Explosive Bombs Destroyed

JAKARTA - The Gegana Detachment of the Central Sulawesi Police Satbrimob detonated or disposed of 11 rice cake bombs which were evidence of the disclosure of the suspected Poso terrorist group. The bomb has high explosive power.

"Eleven lontong bombs (pipe bomb) were disposed of at the headquarters of Company I Battalion B Satbrimob Polda Central Sulawesi", said Deputy Chief of Public Relations of Ops Madago Raya, AKBP Bronto Budiono in a statement, Sunday, August 29.

The dozens of bombs that were destroyed on Saturday, August 28, consisted of 10 PVC pipe bombs and 1 iron pipe bomb. The bomb was also evidence confiscated within a year.

"Evidence was confiscated by the Madago Raya Task Force during 2020 and 2021", said Bronto.

On the other hand, Bronto explained, in 2020, the Greater Madago Task Force confiscated 10 bombs from 3 cases. Where 7 of them are in Tegalrejo Poso Village. Then, the results of the confiscation during gunfights in the Padopi Mountains and Peaka Poso Mountains with evidence of 1 lontong bomb.

Meanwhile, in 2021 there were 2 cases with 2 pieces of evidence of rice cake bombs, namely during gunfights in Sa Lubanga, Sausu District, Parimo Regency, and findings in Penedapa Village, Poso Pesisir District, Poso Regency.

"To avoid the risk of danger in storing the evidence of the rice cake bomb, it will be disposed of or destroyed by blowing it up", said Broto.

Furthermore, Bronto emphasized that the Madago Raya Task Force is still hunting for 6 suspected Poso terrorists who are still on the loose. In fact, they were asked to surrender immediately.

"We hope for support and prayers from the people of Poso, Sigi and Parimo and the people of Central Sulawesi in general to resolve all forms of terror carried out by the Poso terrorist DPO (wanted list) so that the Poso, Sigi and Parimo areas in particular and Central Sulawesi are safe and conducive again", said Bronto.
