JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that the weather in several parts of Indonesia on Sunday faced the potential for heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and the risk of flooding.

According to the BMKG weather forecast, heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds has the potential to occur in North Sumatra, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, West Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua and Papua.

Meanwhile, the regions of Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, Jambi, Bangka Belitung Islands, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, and South Sulawesi are predicted to face rain with a lighter intensity.

The BMKG has warned that the Central Kalimantan region is in the flash flood alert category from August 29 to August 30, 2021, at 07.00 WIB.

In addition, according to the BMKG, there are a number of areas that are in the flood alert category, including Aceh, North Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Banten, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.

The regions of North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua are also included in the flood alert category according to the BMKG.
