US Prepares Action On Kabul Attack By ISIS

JAKARTA - Commander of the United States (US) Military Center General Kenneth F. McKenzie said he was ready to take action against those responsible for the Kabul attack, Thursday, August 26. He confirmed the attack was carried out by the Islamic State (ISIS).

McKenzie also expected the attacks to continue, particularly in the area around Kabul airport. "Right now our focus is on another very active threat to the airfield," McKenzie said.

According to McKenzie 12 US service members were killed in the explosion. Meanwhile, 15 others were injured. "There is no substitute for these young American men or women."

"We are still investigating the exact circumstances of the attack. But airport security requires physical checks at interface points."

Regarding the perpetrators, it is currently suspected that two people carried out suicide bombings. McKenzie also said evacuations would continue.
