Ogan Komering Ulu Regent Asks To Increase Vaccine Supply

JAKARTA - The Daily Executive of the Regent of Ogan Komering Ulu, South Sumatra, Edward Candra hopes that the supply of vaccines from the center for the region will be increased. Because the amount received at this time is still very small.

"The supply of vaccines for OKU is felt to be very low", said Regent Edward Chandra in Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), as reported by Antara, Thursday, August 26.

According to him, the current supply of vaccine doses is considered inadequate to meet the vaccination needs of all residents of OKU Regency who will be vaccinated.

Therefore, he said, his party has proposed an additional dose of vaccine to the central government so that it will be immediately supplied to OKU Regency.

"Based on a report from the OKU COVID-19 Task Force, in September 2021, OKU Regency will again receive vaccine supplies from the center. However, I don't know how much", he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control of the OKU Health Service, Andi Prapto separately added that the last time his party received a supply of vaccine was 1.030 vials distributed from Palembang on Friday, August 13.

"The vaccines received were immediately distributed to three hospitals and 18 health centers spread across OKU Regency", he said.

The vaccines received by his party include 610 vials of Biofarma Vaccine with details for OKU Police 100 vials, Kodim 0403 350 vials, Sentra 60 vials, and the local Health Office 100 vials and Moderna for health workers as many as 420 vials.

"The vaccines supplied are still far from sufficient considering the number of residents of OKU Regency to be vaccinated reaches 277.000 people", he said.
