Was Examined Case Of IDR 2 Trillion Bodong Aid Akidi Tio, South Sumatra Police Chief Now Removed

JAKARTA - National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, has removed Inspector General Eko Indra Heri from the position of South Sumatra Police Chief. The removal was carried out after Inspector General Eko was investigated for the case of fraudulent donations from Akidi Tio's children worth IDR 2 trillion.

The removal was stated in the secret telegram (STR) number ST/1701/VIII/KEP2021.

"Yes, there is indeed rotation," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, when confirmed, Wednesday, August 25.

However, Argo did not comment on the alleged dismissal of Inspector General Eko Indra Heri regarding the donation.

In the STR, Inspector General Eko Indra Heri was transferred to the position of Karosahli, the National Police Chief. Meanwhile, Inspector General Tomi Harmanto will replace his position.

Previously, Inspector General Eko Indra Heri had apologized directly to the entire community regarding the IDR 2 trillion grant from the late Akidi Tio whose whereabouts were not clear.

The apology was conveyed by the Kapolda accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Supriyadi at the promoter building of the South Sumatra Police Headquarters.

"I apologize to all Indonesian people, especially the National Police Chief, the leadership at the National Police Headquarters, members of the National Police, the South Sumatran community, religious and traditional leaders including the South Sumatra Forkompinda, the Governor, the Regional Military Commander, and the Military Resort Command Commander", he said.

Inspector General Eko admits that the fault lies with him personally for not being careful in ensuring the projected donation for the COVID-19 response to South Sumatra which was mandated to him until it finally caused a commotion.

"The commotion that occurred can be said as my weakness as an individual. I was a human being ask for forgiveness. This happened due to my carelessness," said Inspector General Eko.

He also forgave the family of the late Akidi Tio, who currently have five people appointed as witnesses by the general criminal investigation team, namely Heryanti Tio, Rudi Sutadi, Kelvin (a family of children of the late Akidi Tio), Dr. Hardi Darmawan (family private doctor) and the other is not yet identified.

"Regardless of whether or not these funds exist, I have forgiven the family of the late Akidi Tio", said Inspector General Eko.
