JAKARTA - Sukoharjo Resort Police, Central Java, uncovered a case of copying subsidized LPG to non-subsidized LPG by arresting the perpetrator Suyadi (47).

The perpetrator was arrested in his rented house in Keputren Hamlet, RT 03/08, Keputren Village, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency.

"Suyadi is currently being held together with evidence and is undergoing an examination at the Sukoharjo Police Headquarters for the legal process", said Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan in a case at the Sukoharjo Police Headquarters, reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 25.

The police chief said that the perpetrator in his action admitted that he had sold 400 mixed 12 kg LPG cylinders to the public.

"What this perpetrator did is categorized as an economic crime. The suspect's actions have an impact on the community as consumers", said the Police Chief.

The police chief revealed that the case began with information from the public regarding suspicious activities carried out by the perpetrators regarding the mixed LPG. What's more, the perpetrator in the rented house in Keputren, Kartasura has no information as to the LPG base.

Officers then went to the location, and it was true that the perpetrators carried out the activity of copying subsidized LPG to non-subsidized LPG. The perpetrator was then taken into custody along with the available evidence.

Sukoharjo Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Tarjono Sapto Nugroho added that the perpetrators in the action prepared 5 kg, 12 kg, and 50 kg non-subsidized LPG cylinders. After that, the perpetrator bought a 3 kg subsidized LPG whose contents were then transferred to a non-subsidized gas cylinder. The mixed gas is then sold to chicken farmers in Salatiga, Central Java.

"The perpetrator got an empty non-subsidized LPG cylinder by borrowing a friend in Yogyakarta. The perpetrator was assisted by an employee", said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit.

The police managed to secure evidence, including one Daihatsu Grandmax car number AD 1865 QU, 10 regulator units, digital scales, 20 LPG cylinders 3 kg filled, 18 empty 3 kg tubes, 13 5.5 kg LPG tubes, one 12 LPG cylinders. kg filled, eight 12 kg LPG cylinders mix process, 10 empty 12 kg LPG cylinders, and one 50 kg filled LPG cylinder.

The suspect himself was charged with Article 62 paragraph 1 Yo Article 8 letters B and C of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and/or Article 32 paragraph 2 of Article 30 and Article 31 of UURI Number 20 of 1981 concerning Legal Metrology with the threat of imprisonment. a maximum of five years or a maximum fine of IDR 2 billion.
