JAKARTA - The Indicator survey institute presented the results of a survey on the electability of political figures towards the presidential candidate election in the 2024 General Election.

In a simulation of 15 political figures, the Executive Director of Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said that Prabowo Subianto was in the highest rank of the public presidential candidate with 26.2 percent support.

Prabowo's electability beat Ganjar Pranowo in second place with 20.8 percent electability and Anies Baswedan who received 15.5 percent support.

"If we look here, Pak Prabowo Subianto's electability is at the highest rank, followed by Ganjar, whose difference is not too far. Then Anies. These three names are relatively high compared to other names", said Burhanuddin in a virtual survey presentation, Wednesday, August 25.

Even though Prabowo's electability is the highest, Burhanuddin views that the General Chairperson of Gerindra is not yet safe in the presidential candidate market. Because, it is possible that Ganjar and Anies could overtake his electability, which is not far from Prabowo.

"The electability of 26 percent is not safe enough to win in 2024. Because there are two other names, namely Ganjar and Anies", said Burhanuddin.

In general, with various electability simulations, Prabowo continues to excel in the survey. However, electability is not dominant. This must be watched out for, considering that Prabowo has been a presidential candidate many times but has not been elected.

"So, even though first place is certainly still a lot of things to do in order to ensure victory in 2024. Ganjar Pranowo is a pretty tight competitor in second and Anies in third", explained Burhanuddin.

Meanwhile, the electability of the names of other political figures is far from the top three names. Ridwan Kamil ranks fourth with electability of 5.7 percent.

Below him, there is Sandiaga Uno with 5.4 percent electability, then Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at 5.4 percent, Khofifah Indar Parawansa 2.6 percent, Mahfud MD 1.9 percent, Gatot Nurmantyo 1.7 percent.

Then, Erick Thohir got 1.6 percent electability, Tito Karnavian 1.3 percent, Airlangga Hartato 1.1 percent, Muhaimin Iskandar 0.4 percent, Puan Maharani 0.4 percent, and Budi Gunawan 0.1 percent.

For information, this survey was conducted in the range of July 30 to August 4, 2021. The sample was chosen completely at random using the multistage random sampling method.

Respondents who took part in the survey were 1.220 Indonesian citizens who had the right to vote and were over 17 years old or married. The survey's margin of error is about 2.9 percent at the 95 percent confidence level.
