Ali Kalora Urges To Surrender, Former Poso Terrorist Leader: I'm Responsible, I'll Pick You Up

JAKARTA - Basri alias Bagong, one of the Poso terrorism convicts who is currently serving his sentence, appealed to all of the remaining Poso terrorists wanted list - including Ali Kalora - to surrender immediately.

The appeal was recorded in a video that was spread over a duration of approximately one minute 53 seconds.

“Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, my name is Basri alias Ayas alias Bagong alias Opa, Alhamdullilah, I am in good condition, well and in good health. I came down to surrender myself, to take responsibility for my actions", he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 24. The video was confirmed by police in Poso, Central Sulawesi.

In his presentation, Santoso's former subordinate, who is also suspected of having led the group after Santoso's death, said and appealed to the Poso terrorist DPO (wanted list) to immediately stop committing unlawful acts.

"My brothers, my brothers who are still in the forest, if you are afraid to come down and surrender, I will be responsible. I will be the one to pick you up. I will pick you up. Our fathers from the police treated me well, more than their own brothers", he said.

He also invited the group to work together to build a better Poso Regency in the future. "Once again, let's go down, let's go down, we have left our actions that violate the law, we built Poso," he said.

Basri, one of the Poso terrorist DPOs, was proven to have committed terrorism. In 2008 he was arrested and the Jakarta district court sentenced him to 19 years in prison.

In 2013, he escaped from Ampana Penitentiary, Tojo Una Una regency, Central Sulawesi, and joined Santoso. However, after the death of Santoso, Basri then surrendered himself to the task force on September 14, 2016, which at that time was still coded as Operation Tinombala.

The Madago Raya operation task force also continued to call for persuasive and humane efforts to six Poso terrorist DPOs, Ali Kalora cum suis.

Basri is one of the examples of terrorists in Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi who surrendered and were treated well by the Police.
