Mayor Bima Arya Says Malls In Bogor Haven't Implemented Vaccine Certificate Rules: Because Many In This City Haven't Been Vaccinated

JAKARTA - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya stated that shopping centers in Bogor City had not yet implemented the rules for scanning barcodes from vaccination certificates.

"Because only 52 percent of the residents of Bogor City have undergone COVID-19 vaccination", said Bima Arya, after reviewing the readiness to visit the Botani Square Mall and Bogor City's BTM Mall, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 21.

According to Bima Arya, although the COVID-19 vaccination rate in Bogor City is currently the highest in West Java, in reality, there are still many who have not been vaccinated.

Bima stated that if the COVID-19 vaccination in Bogor City had reached more than 80 percent, then only the barcode scanning rule from the vaccination certificate was implemented.

However, when it is time to be allowed to open, shopping centers in Bogor City must implement strict health protocols, both for managers, tenants, and visitors.

"There will be supervision of the implementation of health protocols in shopping centers, from the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force. If there are violations, sanctions will be given", he said.

Bima also stated that shopping centers in Bogor City have been closed for almost two months, since the implementation of the Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) policy, starting last July 3.

According to him, the condition of the spread of COVID-19 in the city of Bogor has decreased considerably and is relatively under control. The daily cases of COVID-19 in Bogor City have also decreased considerably.

"We want to ensure that shopping centers in Bogor City when they are allowed to open, are ready. They have met all the requirements", he said.

According to Bima Arya, to be able to operate, malls in Bogor City must meet the requirements set by the central government, such as barcode boards, care and protection applications, and health protocol rules.

"When we visited the two malls, we also had a dialogue with shopping center managers, members of the shopping center association in Bogor City, so that when they were allowed to open, all shopping center managers were ready", he said.

Bima saw from the two malls he visited, everything was ready. This readiness is seen by the presence of a QR Code barcode board placed near the access to and from the mall as well as the care and protection application.
