Members Propose Interpellation Of Formula E, Chairman Of DPRD: Not Wanting To Overthrow The Governor

JAKARTA - The chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, responded to the plan to propose the interpellation rights of council members to the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan regarding the implementation of Formula E.

Prasetio admitted that he invited DPRD members to submit interpellations as long as they met the requirements. Because, it is the right of every member of the board. Moreover, he emphasized that the purpose of the interpellation was not to bring down Anies' name.

"Interpellation is the right to speak for council members because this is in the interest of the local government, not the personal interests of council members. This is not to bring down the governor. That is not our goal. Just asking questions," said Prasetio when met at the DKI DPRD building, Friday, August 20.

Currently, said Prasetio, the DPRD leadership has not yet received a letter of application for the right of interpellation. The DPRD member who initiated the interpellation still invited other members to participate in proposing.

Prasetio explained that if later the interpellation was held, the DPRD would question all follow-up actions of the DKI Provincial Government from the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in DKI's financial reports.

These findings include overpayments in a number of programs, a feasibility study for Formula E with the consideration of the COVID-19 pandemic, to the finding that they are still paying salaries to Jakarta employees who have died.

"I don't know what the discussion will be in the interpellation, which one is priority, which one is not priority. Later there will be a discussion, that's where we will look. Because once again, the boss has to solve problems. That's what we want. Don't let us as members of the DPRD , our (supervision) function doesn't work, that's also dangerous," explained Prasetio.
