Cak Imin Talks About Politics Nowadays, The Government Can Do Anything Thanks To The Majority Of Support In Parliament

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar assessed the need for harmonious support between the government and political parties in parliament in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

According to him, the number of political parties that support it, the central government can make any policy.

"We are grateful that all these political parties are dominantly united in the government, now this government wants to do anything it can," said Muhaimin in an online national speech with CSIS, Thursday, August 19.

Cak Imin, as he is familiarly called, said that the integration of political parties in parliament could provide space for the government to work effectively.

"It's just a matter of leadership, leadership that involves this is really effective," he said.

For example, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives continued, when the government promulgated the Employment Omibus-Law Law. Where, the law can be made quickly thanks to the strong support of the majority political party.

"The government considers the Omnibus Law on job creation as the most effective step for our economic recovery. Now, in a short time, laws can be made, whatever the current law is, it can be made quickly," said Cak Imin.

According to him, the speed with which the law is made shows that togetherness exists in a solid political party. So they can work with the government.

"What remains is the strength of the community, the strength of religious figures, who are continuously involved in our development," he continued.

Thus, he added, the application of strong political party involvement is an inclusive welfare policy. This is because the involvement of political parties is not exclusive.

"This is called inclusive welfare politics which involves not extractive or exclusive as a nation that must have the ability to involve all parties in the implementation of development," he said.
