Anies Says 3 Million DKI Jakarta Residents Have Not Been Vaccinated Because They Rarely Leave Their Homes

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan noted that there are still 3 million residents who have DKI ID cards and have not participated in the COVID-19 vaccination to date.

Anies said that 3 million people are not interested in taking vaccinations because they have low mobility because they rarely leave their homes.

"The majority of those who have not been vaccinated have low mobility. Those who have high mobility, those who work, on average all have been vaccinated. But those who stay at home, do not have any activity, many have not been vaccinated", said Anies at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 19.

Therefore, to reach citizens who have not been vaccinated even though they meet the requirements, dasawisma officers or women of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) will visit families who have not been vaccinated and invite them to register.

"The step is to reach them at home. We are very grateful for the assistance from the PKK dasawisma because they oversee 10 to 20 families. They come and invite them to take vaccinations", said Anies.

On that occasion, Anies said that vaccination could reduce the reproduction rate (Rt) of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta. When the spike in cases occurred, the reproduction number of cases in the capital city had reached 5.

After that, the reproduction rate fell slowly and is currently at number 1. This means that if 100 people are infected with COVID-19, they will transmit the virus to another 100 people.

"With the number still 1, it means that the condition is stable, it hasn't gone down. That's why we are trying for a while to go lower", said Anies.

"What is the tandem? The tandem is with vaccines. Vaccines with high hopes will further protect citizens. So, now we have to work extra to invite Jakarta residents who are in Jakarta, Jakarta ID cards, but have not been vaccinated", explained Anies.
