Komnas HAM Says TWK Of KPK Employees Violated 11 Rights, Including Women's Rights And Freedom Of Opinion

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) stated that 11 human rights were violated in the implementation of the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) for employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"There are 11 forms of human rights violations that occurred during the TWK assessment process in order to transfer the status of KPK employees to ASN," said Deputy Chairman of Komnas HAM Munafrizal Manan when reading the results of the report on alleged human rights violations carried out online, Monday, August 16.

The 11 forms of rights that are violated are the right to justice and legal certainty, women's rights, the right not to discriminate, the right to freedom of religion and belief, the right to work and the right to security.

The rights that are violated are the right to information, the right to privacy, the right to freedom of assembly and association, the right to participate in government, and the right to freedom of opinion.

Regarding the violation of women's rights, Munafrizal explained that in the assessment process there were actions or actions that demeaned and even harassed women. This is then considered a form of verbal violence that leads to human rights violations.

Meanwhile, the violation of the right to freedom of religion and belief was found due to questions that lead to certain religious beliefs and understandings. This question, continued Munafrizal, is not related to the scope of work of the employees.

"Following the violation of the right to freedom of expression due to indicators that an employee is declared ineligible because of his criticism of leaders, institutions, and the government in general is one of the restrictions on freedom of expression," he said.

The final report was made after Komnas HAM received a complaint from a KPK employee who was declared to have failed in the TWK assessment process. In the process, there were 23 employees of the anti-corruption commission who were questioned whether they passed or did not pass.

In addition, Komnas HAM also asked for information from other parties, including the KPK leadership, represented by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron. Not only that, the KPK also studied the evidence received in the form of documents related to the implementation of the TWK assessment as a condition for the transfer of employment status.
