National Police Chief Urges Medan Residents To Do Centralized Isolation, He Promises Security And Comfort

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo appealed to residents of Medan, North Sumatra, to undergo COVID-19 treatment in a centralized isolation area (isoter). According to him, the place is safer and more comfortable because it is directly monitored by health professionals.

The announcement was made when the National Police Chief and TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto held a meeting with the Forkopimda Medan, North Sumatra, on Saturday, August 14.

"We urge and invite people who are self-isolating to isolate in the isoters that have been provided. At the location of the isoters, patients are directly under the supervision of health workers," said Sigit in his statement.

By undergoing treatment at an isoter, said Sigit, it is possible to speed up the transmission of COVID-19 to family and relatives. Moreover, the isoter place is equipped with comfortable facilities.

In addition, Sigit also asked Forkopimda Medan to increase the number of isoter locations. This can be done by utilizing existing facilities and infrastructure. Then, they are also asked to socialize to the public that isolation in isoters is better for accelerating recovery.

"Adding beds in integrated isolation by utilizing the Education and Training Center, Sports Building, and school buildings. We urge and invite people who are Isoman to isolate in the isoters that have been provided," said Sigit.

On the other hand, Sigit also emphasized that Forkopimda Medan maintains the momentum of economic growth which is currently starting to rise. The way to do this is to continue to implement strategies to control the spread of COVID-19.

"Indonesia's economy grew by 7.07 percent. Meanwhile, North Sumatra's economy began to grow by around 4.95 percent during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Sigit.

"We must maintain this momentum of economic growth with health as the basic capital. If the COVID-19 case can be suppressed, economic growth can return to normal," Sigit continued.
