Check Out The SIM Renewal Provisions During The PPKM Level 4 Period

JAKARTA – The extension of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) from August 10-16, 2021 made the Korlantas Polri re-adjust the dispensation rules for the extension of a driving license (SIM).

Head of Sub-Directorate of SIM Ditregident Korlantas Polri Kombes Tri Julianto Djatiutomo, said this time the extension of the dispensation was specifically for SIMs that died or expired during PPKM Level 4.

"For SIM holders whose validity period expires on July 3 to August 16, 2021, it can be extended from August 18 to 23, 2021 with an extension mechanism," said Tri, to reporters, Thursday, August 12.

Djati also said that for SIM holders whose validity period expires as long as the implementation of PPKM Level 4 is extended, 3-9 August 2021, they will get a dispensation. This rule refers to the Telegram Letter of the National Police Chief Number ST/1570/VIII/YAN.1.1./2021 on August 3, 2021.

Meanwhile, for SIM holders who do not renew within the specified period, their SIM will be forfeited.

"For SIM holders who do not carry out an extension within the grace period, they will implement a new SIM issuance mechanism," said Djati.
