Fishermen In Jembrana Bali Hit By High Waves, One Person Missing

JEMBRANA - Two fishermen were hit by high waves when they were about to dock in the Waters of Air Kuning, Jembrana Regency, Bali.

One person managed to survive on behalf of Asrul Salim (26). Meanwhile, one victim is still being searched on behalf of Suhairi (50), a resident of Banjar Munduk, Jembarana, Bali.

From a report received by the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Bali, at around 07.45 WITA, two fishermen went to sea on Wednesday, August 11 and returned to shore this morning at 06.00 WITA.

"We received information from Mr. Pardi," said Head of the Bali Basarnas Office, Gede Darmada, Thursday, August 12.

From the reports received, SAR deployed 8 personnel to the location to search for missing fishermen.

"We have received weather data currently in cloudy conditions to light rain and wave heights of 1 to 2 meters," he added.

Arriving at Air Kuning Beach the team coordinated with a group of fishermen, then carried out a sweep along the shoreline.

"Because the incident happened when we were about to approach the dock, our initial focus was to do our search on the beach," said Darmada.
